Braces have been around for a very, very long time. In fact, the earliest known form of braces dates back to the ancient Egyptians. Fortunately, there have been many improvements in orthodontics since that time.

Metal braces help to guide teeth into the desired position by providing gentle, guiding pressure. Metal brackets are installed on each of your teeth, and an archwire connects them. The archwire provides the majority of the guiding pressure, while the brackets keep everything in place.

Regular checkups to monitor your progress will make adjustments that keep your treatment on track and heading toward your new smile!
